Gadgets and Goggles

This free exhibition at the Museum of St Albans, showcases weird and wacky inventions from self-pouring teapots to clockwork burglar alarms. The objects were all collected by Maurice Collins and date from the period between the Great Exhibition of 1851 and the Festival of Britain in 1951. Open Mon to Sat 10am-5pm and Sun 2-5pm until 13 April 2014.

This local independent wine school run by David Rough offers friendly, informal evening and weekend tastings in St Albans and Harpenden. Each session includes at least seven locally sourced wines, a tutored tasting and guidance notes. David also runs food and wine matching events (a great gift idea) and accredited WSET wine and spirit courses for enthusiasts and industry professionals. Find out more.
